Frequently Asked Questions

General
All of our courses, assessments and workshops are virtual instructor-led utilizing WebEx, Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
While a class size of 12-15 participants is ideal, we accept anywhere from 6-21 participants.
Note: Due to the in-class practice component and associated time required, the Virtual Presentations Skills class is limited to 8 participants.
Most courses are 3 hours or 4 hours in length. We typically break for 10-15 minutes during a 3-hour course and for an hour during a 4-hour course. This can be adjusted based on participant time zones and other situational factors.
We will lightly tailor our courses to accommodate the client’s mission and values, leadership competencies and standard procedures or policies that relate to the course content.
The process for each assessment includes three meetings between the participating leader and the coach, totaling about three hours. We may invest additional time as needed in particular situations at no additional charge. These meetings include:
- Greeting and overview
- Assessment results debrief and coaching
- Development planning
Financial considerations
All of our courses, assessments and workshops are invoiced at standard list prices. We only discount if any emergencies or technical challenges on our end significantly impact the learning experience.
Note: If a client contracts for all 7 of our core courses, we will add two “bookend” sessions at no additional charge. Please visit our Core Courses page for more information.
Our payment terms are Net 30. For single courses, assessments or workshops, we invoice upon completion. For clients that contract for multiple courses, we invoice once a month. Therefore, if a client scheduled two separate courses in March, they would receive an invoice at the end of that month for both courses.
No. Clients may purchase a single course or as many that fit their needs and budget.
Yes, we are happy to work with individual leaders.
Value, impact, and ROI
We send a 10-item feedback survey after every course to measure satisfaction with the course content and facilitator, identify areas of most and least impact, target the skill or tool participants are most committed to implementing, and indicate whether they’d recommend the course to other leaders. The complete survey results with data and verbatim comments are shared with the client.
Sponsorship: It is helpful for the client organization to identify a senior sponsor to champion the training and its importance. This person should have the stature and influence to effectively message why the course or courses were selected and why the skills and expected outcomes matter to the participants and to the organization overall.
Expectations of participants: The senior sponsor should set clear expectations about full participation, to include completing pre-work, attending all sessions on time and as scheduled, being fully engaged, and taking specific action to implement the skills and knowledge after the program has concluded.
Permission to learn: The senior sponsor should also emphasize to participants and their managers that the training is a priority. Participants may need back-up and support from managers, peers and direct reports to ensure that they can focus on the learning opportunity without being distracted or pulled in multiple directions.
Debrief: The senior sponsor should expect managers to debrief the course content with their participants and assure that participants commit to specific actions for implementing one or more key take-aways from the training.
Information sharing: The senior sponsor or other point of contact can provide information about the organization’s mission, values, leadership competencies and relevant policies to help us lightly tailor our courses for improved understanding and relevance.
